i would plan on different objectives for each day
day one friday green pre sear askalon and just figure out how things work day 2 academy to transition to seared askalon (BE SURE YOU HAVE BOTH PROFESSIONS) and try out a mission or so 3rd day start new character (rp) except choose a level 20 and allocate skill points then if it is like last time you will be put into lions arch where you can do more exploring in different territory try out some pvp if that is your leaning doing something like this should give you some idea of the game remember your character and possessions will be wiped down to the professions name and starting over on the april beta spend time trying out different combonitions of professions to see what you have most fun with and are best with before the wipe i THOUGHT i wanted to be a warrior/? but got killed all the time as an elementalist/mesmer i am killing the same things that got me easily before |

Well Feix, from one Canuck to another I should tell you that eventually in this game you will have a chance to play against other players. If you get some free time and you feel you have a handle on your skills there are special locations given to all players to compete against each other. The group size can vary (depending on the location) and teams are sorted randomly. You just travel to the site, click to enter the mission and voila! you have a bunch of teammates who you have never met before in your life ready to fight with you against another team in the same position. There are two such tournament circles for now.
There are other player vs player opportunities, but I would just focus on these for now to get a taste. So there you have it, a glimpse of the other side of this game (as if questing wasn't enough? ) |

There are a few things to remember that you will need to know while you are in the Pre-Searing (Tutorial) area.
 1) Do not join the Academy before you are Level 5. You will be unable to get back to the Pre-Searing Area (which is much easier and possible to do by yourself while you are learning) once you join. I hope that the warning to joining the Academy is improved so that it will tell you this fact (unlike when I played the last beta event ) 2) If you start out with a Level 1 character you will be able to try out different secondary professions. If you commit to one you will be unable to chose another. This will give you a chance to see what will work with your playing style before you are stuck with one. 3) The fastest way to level up is to do Quests. The Quest log is you friend and will point out where you have to go to complete the quest (as of the last Beta, the direction arrow on the map was only for the tutorial area) Well that's what I can think of now (it's getting late here) I may edit and add some one when I'm more awake. Being that the Feb. event was my first; you might want to try what I ended up doing. I spent most of my weekend wandering around Pre-Searing Ascalon getting a handle on most of the functions and mechanics of the game. Besides there is only one more beta weekend after this march and then everything is reset to base level. So why not just take your time to understand what's out there so that you have a decent basis to start from when the actual game releases.
- just a thought.... I picked up more on that plan than I would've otherwise. I'll jump-start when they "open the gate" ,..until then,... it can't hurt to experiment with what's around you. |

what i suggest is what im doing, the feb was my first. hang around pre-searing for an hour learn a little, if you are like me you would of learned alot about the game and how to play befor you do. and than dont build up a char and just make a lvl 20 and have fun i say dont build up one cuse theres bit rnough time, and its getting closer and closer to the final wipe when the char u built up will be wiped.

Yeah, from what I have learned, I will play until I understand it all. Like, pre-searing and stuffu untill I have it down. Then try playing then get teh hasng of it and try other proffesions. Right?

Use lots and lots of hexes and enchantments, because there's effectively no removal and they're just going to keep getting better between now and retail.
Peace, -CxE
